Chennakeshava temple is located in Hassan district of Belur and has the most beautiful Hoysala architecture. It was built by Hoysala King Vishnuvardhana in 1117 and took more than 100 years to complete. This historic building was permanently damaged during the war and has been restored many times during this time. Chennakesava Religious Centre has been a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the form of Chennakesava since its establishment.
