The origins of Satta King can be traced back to the 1950s, when it was initially a lottery-based game. The game began with the "Matka" (pot) used in the lottery system where numbers were drawn randomly and bet upon. Over the years, it evolved, and various versions of the game began to appear across India. One of the earliest forms of Satta King was based on the opening and closing rates of cotton traded in the Bombay Cotton Exchange. As the game grew in popularity, it spread to other cities and became a well-known form of gambling.
