You should only wash your Topette or deep wave wig when it's absolutely necessary. Before beginning the washing process, you should first fasten it to a mannequin head in order to avoid any accidents. The step that is the most important in preventing the hair from becoming entangled within the cap is attaching the piece to a mannequin head before washing the cap.

As an alternative to a head made of Styrofoam, we advise using a blockhead made of rubberized plastic instead. Simply fasten the deep wave wig to the mannequin head with a few small sewing pins and position them so that they are positioned strategically at the nape and temple areas.

The first step is to wet the hair.

After the hairpiece has been attached to the head of the mannequin, wet the hair by directing water from the crown to the ends of the hair and allowing it to run down in the natural direction of the hair. Take care to ensure that you always rinse using this straightforward method.

When you are wetting your hair, make sure to avoid using circular motions.

Move the water so that it is close to the hair.

Shampooing is the second step.

Take about a quarter of an ounce of shampoo and place it in your hands. Squeeze the hair a little bit while working the shampoo in with your fingertips in a gentle motion. When you are lathering the hair, you should try to avoid using circular motions. In addition to that, make sure that the inside of the cap has been shampooed. To ensure that your FOLLEA does not have any residue buildup, you should give it a thorough rinse and then do it again.

Step 3 - Rinsing
Repeat the process of thoroughly rinsing the hair with water to remove any remaining shampoo. To accomplish this, follow the same procedure as before and run water down from the crown to the ends. Repeat the process until the water becomes clear. This procedure will take a couple of minutes to complete.

Conditioning is the fourth step.
Using a generous amount of conditioner, begin applying it at the nape of the neck and work your way up toward the roots, pausing about a half inch short of the roots at the end of the process. Move your hands through the hair in a gentle motion to ensure that the conditioner is distributed evenly. Allow the conditioner to penetrate the hair for three to four minutes so that it can work its magic. Perform a thorough washing of the hair. If you believe that a very deep conditioning is required, we are able to provide this service for a small fee if you decide that it is necessary.

The fifth step is to get rid of any excess moisture.
Take off the wig with the deep wave hair on the mannequin. Wrap the hairpiece carefully in the towel, and then gently squeeze it from the roots to the ends to remove any excess water. Comb the hair through with a comb that has wide teeth, and then let the cap of the deep wave wig air dry before proceeding.

Step 6: Give It Some Style
To create the desired look, blow-dry the hair using the cool setting on the dryer. Advice: If you plan to style your hair with thermal tools, you should always use a thermal protectant on your hair before beginning the process of styling it.
